These were four kits I found in a local fabric store with all the fabric, thread, etc. included. I did embellish with extra thread here and there.Difficulty:

Materials
I found several kits on clearance and bought four for the colors that are in my daughters bedroom.
What was your inspiration?
The colors. I wanted to find something to accent their bedroom and wasn't having much luck. I found these four kits on clearance so I worked on them for about a month. I found the frames at a dollar store and was done in time to give to one daughter as a birthday gift. She was impressed that I had actually made them:)
She seemed to be happy with them.
What are you most proud of?
That the colors worked well with the bedspreads. I think that they will become keepsakes for her as well now that she is 20 yrs old.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
If a kit includes everything, and is marked down below $4 or $5.00, give it a try! It was fun to see how everything all came together.
