KIOSHI

Instructions

This quilt was made from a photograph, which I had increased at a copy store 200%, and was cut from the copies.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

For: Pets

Style: Whimsical

Materials

100% cotton Fabric and Batting

What was your inspiration?

My inspiration was my beautiful boy KIOSHI, a 120lb Pryrenean Mastiff, who passed away with bone cancer in February 2009.

What are you most proud of?

I think I captured his true essence in this quilt, and as it was the first time I had attempted to make a quilt without a pattern I think it turned out really well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Choose simple subject and one that you know well, start with black and white as it is much easier to work in just two colors.

Love it. The quilting really makes the quilt! I know you'll fondly remember your beloved pet every time you see it.

Thank you, I was surprised how easy it was to make the quilt top, the hardest was getting the eyes just right, and I struggled on how to quilt it,, but I am happy with how it turned out.
