Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Kwik sew pattern 2997

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Funky, Cute

Materials

polar fleece, zipper, velcro, elastic, thread, and sewing machine (you can also use a serger to make it more "finished")

What was your inspiration?

One of the girls at work was having a baby girl and decided on pink zebra print for the room.
I always try and make a car seat cover for any Moms that are having a baby shower - they are very useful and saves the Moms at least $20!

What are you most proud of?

The fact that everyone I have made one for loves them and tell me how much they appreciate them - the first one I made was for my cousin's little girl over 7 years ago!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Ask the Mom what the "theme" is - she will appreciate this. Once you start making these for gifts make some extras to keep on hand because you will find people expect them from you! They go together very quickly.

Could you explain how to make these? Is there a pattern? All of a sudden I have 3 different babies born in Oct & Nov. I'd love to give these.

I use Kwik Sew pattern number 2997 - which I know is still available because I can never remember how much fabric to buy so I have to pull it out of the pattern drawers at the fabric store. Congratulations!!

I use the Kwik Sew pattern number 2997 and congratulations - you will be able to put it together in about an hour once you get started - there are only 2 pieces and a ribbing - how much easier could it be!
