What was your inspiration?
This hat used to be a plain visor beanie I designed for a newborn when I was pregnant with my first child. After he was born and was spending more time outside, I made a beanie with a broader brim so he won't have the sun in his eyes. This worked but it wasn't perfect because it couldn't block the sun coming from the side. So I tried making the brim wider but this made the beanie look unstylish because the brim was too big. But this mistake gave me a chance to come up with the creative idea to fold up the sides with a button. This led me to adding a three-dimensional Popcorn Stitch and also to make the matching popcorn beanie in adult size originally for myself.
What are you most proud of?
Popcorn Beanie is an ideal pattern I came upon through countless trial and error so I am especially attached to it.
