Nylon strapping, ribbons from fabric collections, pliers, and key chain hardware (found an online supplier)

What was your inspiration?

I found this idea on the Moda Bake Shop site. I had all of the supplies that are needed and couldn't wait to put them together. I had 10 inch strapping scraps left over from my backpack projects. I had no idea I'd find such a cool idea to use them.

What are you most proud of?

I was thinking these will be fabulous to give to my quilting friends as little gifts. And then I had the idea to use them to tag my scissors and rotary cutter. It makes them easy to find, and identifies my cutter from other quilters in a group. If the strap is threaded through the handle of the scissors I can use the key ring to hang them up in my sewing room.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Save those woven ribbons from Moda collections. There are lots of uses for them. If you don't have Moda reuse ribbon from gifts, as long as they are cloth. I just threw some old dog collars in the wash and am thinking I may repurpose them into tags.

I thought I was going to make them to give away, but so far I've made use of all.
