What was your inspiration?
my niece, Ryan asked me to make a quilt for her sister Kerry's 35th birthday and this was the type of quilt she wanted
What are you most proud of?
knowing that she wanted almost bedspread size quilt for a king size bed, i knew my hands, even with spring loaded shears, would not survive cutting into a rag quilt, so decided to use a flat fell seam instead, it really worked well and gave me exactly the look i wanted for her modern style bedroom
it also took some doing to find very neutral colors in flannel, her bedrrom being just a couple shades of gray...
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
a project this large works a lot better doing it block by block and then sewing in 4-5 row sections, so it's not too cumbersome until the very end!!
