Kendall Fair Isle Hat

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Sunburst Fair Isle

Instructions

This is an old pattern I've had for over 20 years. It is easy to adapt to whatever weight, gauge or size hat you need. Great for 'stash' and projects such as Kaps for Kendall

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Charity

Style: Casual, Traditional

Materials

Worsted Weight yarn: Wool Ease (red) and Sorrento (lavendar). Size 8 US 16" round needles plus (5) Size 8 US dpn. Gauge is 5 stitches to the inch

What was your inspiration?

I've always loved fair isle...I was going through my odds and ends stash and was immediately drawn to the variegated red. Then, when I put the lavendar next to it, both colors 'popped' together. I thought it looked bright and festive when completed, so I hope the future recipient likes it as well.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The 'crazier' the color combinations the better. Don't be too conservative in your color choices!! While Fair Isle is a traditional style of knitting, the colors don't need to be!! :)
