What was your inspiration?

my cousin asked me to make her 1st grand daughter's christening gown using anything i could harvest from my cousin's wedding gown from 1974. it was a challenge but there was plenty of wedding gown to work with! all the large lace appliques and bottom trim is from her dress and the entire christening gown and bonnet are overlayered in organza from her dress

What are you most proud of?

the gown had an antique passed down from previous generations feel to it,

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

made me think twice about formalwear just haning in closets and the possibilities, just remember have plenty of time, it can take a long time to take a formal dress apart!!

What a lovely creation. I love to 'repurpose' antique and vintage items for this era. Beautiful workmanship. She is a lucky little girl!
