Instructions

Be sure to create extra decorating components. Chocolate can be brittle. I piped out 10 waves of differing heights and lengths, then trimmed as I needed with a hot knife. Brush waves with blue and pearl lustre duste. Press waves in an overlapping pattern around the cake, chop up wave trimmings and use as additional texture around base. Chill to set icing.

What was your inspiration?

Kathy loves the sea. I love this painting and knew it would translate well into a piped chocolate design.

What are you most proud of?

People at the party were fighting over the chocolate waves.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Give yourself plenty of time. The assembly of the cake is quick. The planning and piping can take a few hours.
