Pattern Info

Bargello Heart by Becky Botello »

Instructions

I changed the overall finished size of the quilt so had to reduce the width of each column to reduce the overall width of the quilt. I also had a fat quarter pack so used around 34 different fabrics rather than the number recommended in the pattern.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Girls

Style: Classic, Traditional, Whimsical, Cute

Materials

Cotton fabric, cotton batting, thread and basting spray

What was your inspiration?

My daughter Kate is the sweetest little girl, and is always telling me how much she loves me - so a heart seems appropriate!

What are you most proud of?

Altering the pattern to suit my needs once again. This always makes it harder but somehow more rewarding!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Bargello is fun!

Ohmygoodness! All those little pieces! You must have the patience of a saint (and eyesight to match!)! Well done - it's terrific!

You sew strips together then cut them into columns, so there is very few little tiny pieces you have to keep track of - Bargello isn't anywhere near as hard as it looks! :)

This is just stunning! Amazing skill. Bargello simply terrifies me. I'm sure I'd never be able to keep all those columns of different sized pieces organized and it order.

Give it a go, you just need to be organised and have a place you can keep it laid out while constructing, it would be too hard if you had to keep putting it all away!

It really isn't as hard as you think, time consuming yes but give it a go!
