Instructions

This 1980's pattern was written for 2 different weights of nylon tricot. Not my cup of tea, nor readily available anymore. Experiment with fabrics. This was actually a practice run for the pattern I hope to use for her Christening dress.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Traditional, Cute, Whimsical

Materials

1/8" gingham poly/cotton blend & poly lace from my stash, poly/cotton Symphony broadcloth and the great daisy trim from JoAnn's.

What was your inspiration?

A new granddaughter that needs a Blessing dress, gingham leftover from a dress I made her mother almost 30 years ago.

What are you most proud of?

It fits!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have fun! The gingham was rather sheer, so I used the broadcloth for a slip/lining. The wide lace is attached to the broadcloth only. In retrospect, I would have used a more narrow lace on the bodice, the wide lace is a bit overwhelming.
