What was your inspiration?
A picture in his Country Garden book. It was laying on a beach with a cool hat and some other beach items and I just fell in love with the subtle grays and pops of color. Mine was a bit different since I did not find all the same fabrics that were in his quilt but I was close.
What are you most proud of?
I was able to give this to my son who uses it on his sail boat in Oregon.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This isn't anything anyone would want to make. It was very hard. The pieces are very small and quite frankly it was boring a heck to make and I was not all that excited about it when finished. It is a good example of some of Kaffe's fabric about 7 years ago. Vintage to be exact.
