just sketching to build muscle memory. Cindy's class is fantastic.

What was your inspiration?

Cindy's class. Especially the idea of adding dimension to designs. This design was started before I joined the class, but was lacking something. Dimension and Cindy's spine on the feather! Thanks Cindy. Now to choose fabric, thread and begin marking!!!

What are you most proud of?

I didn't think I was capable of designing something like this. I actually have it stuck up on my living wall so I can look at it.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Grab some paper and start drawing

Thanks again everyone. hopefully will have a play with thread and fabric this week. Still to decide on a centre design, tho I have been stencil shopping online (they should arrive this week), so maybe something I ordered might work

Thanks so much everyone. I am really excited to start stitching it on my domestic machine. Really no idea of colour etc. Might do some sample feathers with a variety of fabric and thread combinations to see. I love free motion quilting but have put of doing a whole cloth as the space without seams lines and blocks seemed intimidating. Thanks Cindy for the class, it really has inspired me. It's funny the center bit is similar to one of Cindy's designs/stencils and that is the bit I have had designed for a while. Still have to sketch something out for the very centre though. Thanks for the online friendship group too.

What a spectacular job of divide and conquer you have created. It is truly an artistic, creative, majestic, piece. I stand in awe as my eyes take in all the intricate detail. Though it is still likely on the artistic drawing board, have you designed anything for the center that you will share? Will this be a long arm quilted project? I look forward to seeing this quilted. It is so over the top

Oh my, oh my, oh my. Words are failing me to tell you how wonderful that design is. Yes this class is so wonderful. It came just at the time I needed it. There are other classes that are wonderful, but this one met my needs and wants at this moment in my learning process. I am glad you are taking it too. I will learn a lot from seeing your designs That is as soon as my mouth that dropped open when I saw your design can finally close.
