What was your inspiration?

An old photo of my grandmother reminded me that she was never seen without her apron. I added fancy pockets to her basic style.

The huge pockets remind me of my late mother's, those were always full... a nice hankie, lollipops; rubbers, hair pins, bandaids, etc on one and spare change as well as small bills in the other

Mine contain tissues, scissors, measuring tapes, bookmarks - goodness knows what. I'm needing to replace this one though. I've pretty much worn it out & bleached it to death.

What a wonderful apron. Your colors are terrific & I really like the fabric that you chose. What kind of ties did you put on the apron? My aprons are an intricate part of my wardrobe. Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you. I'm so glad you like my aprons.. The wide neck on this one just drops over the head and there are two long ties attached at the back waist that I can actually wrap around and tie in front. The ties are 1 1/2 inch wide. Like you, I wear my aprons all the time. Sometimes I color coordinate with my clothes, but usually it's more about practicality. The white background on this apron makes it perfect to wear when baking as it doesn't show the flour quite so much as some of the others. This particular one is very much worn and faded right now - ready for replacement with something else.

I do too. When I see how quickly they become stained or wear out I realize how much protection they give to my clothes.
