Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Clothing

For: Children

Style: Romantic, Cute, Whimsical

Materials

Shoes from an opp-shop, buttons from another opp-shop, thread, needle.

What was your inspiration?

Well, life has been so busy lately I haven't had a chance to sew, and I was going insane - isn't how you know you are an addict? Anyway, I bought these cute shoes at my fav opp-shop. They are perfect for Little Monkey's narrow feet and they cost me $1, The only problem -they are boring as! Not to worry - there is an opp-shop across the road from my work where they have tons of buttons! It took me less time to sew them on than to write up this little blurb and upload the pics :)

What are you most proud of?

It was a 'just for fun' project while we were setting up me new sewing room. I needed to do something (do you know the feeling??) to prevent me from eating a kilo of chocolates haha It was fun turning something boring into something cute. Little Monkey will not leave these shoes alone now hahaha I suspect she has a thing for buttons, too ;)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Little cute things are fun to make :)

Too cute - I saw a heaps of shoes covered with buttons for sale at some markets in Brisbane recently and have been thinking I should do something with my box of buttons just like this! They look great! My girls love buttons too - my button box is a regular treat for them to play with! :)

Hahaha When we set up our Art & craft room I finally got to sort my buttons out according to colours - Little Monkey was sooo keen to help! A little too keen, really, so I allocated a few gigantic buttins and a jar for her, and she has not parted with them since :) Girls and buttons - whatever makes us happy :) Hope you are well and crafting away :)

So great that you have a room for your arts and crafts! I do all mine in the living room, luckily my girls have learnt to ask before they take anything off my sewing table! Crafting away? absolutely - I can't stop either - just added some new projects today :)

i used to do all my sewing in the dining room, and had to pack everything away every time. LM is only 18 months old, so she is not very good at asking, however she is super curious! We had a spare room with a double bed in it we have only used a few times, so we diceded to get rid of the bed base, hid the mattress under our bed so we can pull it out if we need to, got a small desk I now use as a sewing desk, and I just love it that I don't have to unpack and pack everything away every single time :) I might go check out your new projects :) I just love what you make :) Tata :)
