What was your inspiration?

I love the "Jungle Babies' juvenile fabric found awt Joann's. It was designed by Patty Reed Designs for Fabric Traditions, , N.T.T., Inc. There are many prints to choose from all in the same design set. One is the one I fussy cut the 'picture' block centers from; one is an overall jungle babies print I used in the border, one is another overall print used for the backing. There is also several other prints in this collection, including some flannel prints which I used in a rag quilt.

What are you most proud of?

I like the little quilt. It is 37 x 45" and is edged in prairie points which I think 'sets off' the quilt. I made sheets and pillowcase to match the quilt (unfortunately did not photograph them before sending them to the person they were made for). The sheets and pillowcase are in the olive green cotton and the top sheet and pillow case have the praire points as trim on the border of the top sheet and pillow case. It is a darling ensemble.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This is a very cute quilt. I love the fabrics and the Prairie Point border really sets it off. I wonder how long it took you to do all those Prairie points?

Each 'point' is a 2-1/2? square, folded diagonally into a triangle and then each side folded in again to make a square, and of course pressed with a steam iron at each folding. It took me about an hour to press all of the points, and probably about 3 hours to pin them on so they fit each side properly, then sewed them on. They look much more time consuming then they really are. Glad you enjoyed the quilt. The colors are much prettier in person. Thanks for the compliments.
