Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Instructions

Amy stresses the scant 1/4 inch seam and she means it! These came out exactly 12.5 inches square. Lower block looks smaller but that is optical illusion based on angle of photo.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Mod, Whimsical, Traditional

Materials

Continued using mix of cotton fabrics featuring dark background fabric

What was your inspiration?

The wonderful group of fat quarters I found at the Mid Atlantic Quilt Show in Hampton.

What are you most proud of?

Most proud of keeping my birds with their heads "up" on these blocks.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be sure to use the scant 1/4 inch seam allowance or your blocks will be too small. Don't trust your foot, measure to see where 1/4 inch is and then go slightly (thread or two) inside that.
