What materials did you use? cottons

What are you most proud of? Fabrics worked OK for this block! And, yes, I have already done the flying geese (feel like an expert after the Civil War block quilt) and have started some assembly.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Use sizing or starch on fabric before cutting triangles & diamonds.

This one is just perfect Darns!! You are going to have a spectacular quilt! Can't wait to see the whole thing. Have you decided on that flower basket space yet?

Thanks, Jean! I think I'm going to play with the circular sewing attachment I bought a couple of months ago. Maybe various sized circles - some overlapping. It will give me the impetus to use more of the decorative stitches on my machine to cover the edges of the circles.

Great idea! Geometric and modern. Can't wait to see what you sew :)

Ooooh your yummy colors!! You always come up with the most wonderful fabric choices! Love this!

Thanks a lot, Di4N4! Glad to see you're having the chance to wander around Craftsy again!

Looking gorgeous as always, girl! You seem to be able to make so many projects happen-- I really respect that-- it's very inspiring to me as I tend to pick up and drop projects and have a closetful of UFOs.

07/05/2013 Flag

Oh, don't you know it!! About UFO's! This summer as I create new blocks of the months squares, I am resolved to complete 3 UFO's--that's a start, anyway. (And I have another new Italian Mosaic quilt I want to start for my daughter. . . but finish something, first, Carolyn)

Thanks a lot! I think I need to quit watching Craftsy classes & do something about the quilt tops that are not quilted, all my PIGS (projects in grocery sacks), the complete mess in my sewing room BUT I have this cool fabric for this Quilt Along I'm doing so I think I'll go cut & sew! Absolutely hopeless!! I have vowed to not buy any more fabric without finishing something - we'll see - - -

Love all the textures coming together--another pretty square.

Thanks, Carolyn! I'm glad to have this block done so I can get to some of the other stuff that's waiting - my friend wants some embroidered kitties for one of her quilts & I have some great Laurel Burch designs - maybe I should do a little embroidery for a change!?!

Just checking on your progress - can't wait to see your 2013 BOM. How's it coming? Mine is in the put together and finish the top stage.

10/17/2013 Flag

Well, I've kind of stalled on this one - it's mostly together except for the border(s) - I don't want the half square triangle border & haven't decided what to substitute. It hasn't reached UFO yet but close.
