It didn't occur to me that these were silk ties... they look really pretty on the green background! Like flowers in the grass :)

Sorry, rkatika, these are not 'silk ties' - I think sable58 was implying that 'silk ties' could be used in this block instead of cutting fabric wedges - but thank you for your comment.
