Instructions

Really none other than use a knit for the top. Denim for the pants or a bottom weight gabardine. This is a teen style outfit and may not be suited for older women.

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Casual, Cute, Retro / Vintage, Mod, Romantic

Materials

One yard or less of knit fabric of our choice. Then get a vintage pattern from ebay.com. It is a Jr. pattern with cute sippered pants but I just made the top. I used all usual and customary sewing tools. It was a fun top and I will make more using ribbon for the ties and ribbon or fringe at the botton like the pattern shows.

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make a cute top for my daughter in OH where it gets humid and she just moved there from CA. So I had this Vintage PD and saw this pattern on ebay and grabbed it up and sewed it up. I think the next one will have black ribbon for the ties and fringe or ribbon on the bottom.

What are you most proud of?

N/A

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just have fun making this for a young gal!
