Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Stupendous Stitching: Adventures in Surface Design »

Instructions

Made this as a journal cover. Have also used this technique for making paperback book covers. I like "art" that is usable and this item has gotten a lot of attention.

Category: Quilting

For: Women

Style: Casual, Funky, Whimsical

Materials

cotton, assorted threads and beads

What was your inspiration?

The class of course. Needed something to kick me out of the routine of using a pattern, something that was more freeform. This is a great class for that.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Don't hold back. Enjoy the process.

I make book covers for paperbacks as well and am always looking for new techniques to try just to keep it interesting for me. I used it for my kindle cover, too, but my daughter "borrowed" it. Guess I'll have to make another! Won't that be terrible.

Thanks. It was tons of fun and definately got me out of my box. It has led to several others for friends. Your classes are fabulous.

I love your journal. I bet you live holding it too since it has so much texture. Makes you inspired to write, no?
