What materials did you use? Muslin, threads, ribbons & fabrics from my stash. The second cover was made from a crazy piecing practice piece - also all stash materials.

What are you most proud of? That I turned practice pieces into something functional (and attractive, too, I think)!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Book covers are not difficult, but take a lot of time as you have to be fairly precise. I double or triple stitch the ties and handles, so that they will not come out with use. I have made many book covers for my sisters and they wear them out before the handles or ties fail!. I used to make them and sale at craft fairs. Now that so much reading is done electronically, there is not much demand for book covers anymore.

Lovely way to use your practice - excellent idea!!

Even though electronics have taken over our reading culture, many still carry and use their special bible version. This makes a fabulous gift for your sisters in Christ or maybe if you need a special "secret pal gift."
