Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Art Quilting: Pictorial Techniques »

Instructions

This was a Wendy Butler Burns Project

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Other

Style: Whimsical

Materials

I used Batik for the background and cottons for the flower. Then I added glue on jewels and butterfly.

What was your inspiration?

Just the fabric's I had on hand.. Took me a while to figure out which back ground looked best.

What are you most proud of?

It turned out nice, I messed up back on it so I just added another color back and border and really like it more..

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Good Luck!!! I don't have patience for this kind of applique but I did learn more than I know and that's the whole point.. I've done a few of these before but not this method..

Great.... glad to see the finished piece.. your batik background in the turquoise is great... and I love the 3-d feature of the beading in the flower center and the butterfly!
