What materials did you use? Batik fabric, coloured pencils, thread

What are you most proud of? The way the eyes turned out, and the fact that it actually looks very much like her - never thought I'd be able to accomplish that, as I'm not an artist and have never been good at doing human or animal figures.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Make sure you really think about the overlay, and how it affects the picture. I loved the teardrop/rain idea as my niece lives on what we fondly call the "wet coast" (rather than the west coast), but when I proudly showed it to my husband, he said he really liked the idea, but the large raindrop looked like a 'noose' around her neck! Of course, now that's all I see is that darned noose!!!

Thank you, Lola, and classmates, for your kind comments. I barely see the 'noose' anymore - and I've convinced myself that the 'teardrop/raindrop' on her cheek defines what the larger shape is.....
