What are you most proud of? I derive some satisfaction from having been able to complete my first clutch bag.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? It is quite easy. Just cut desired length and width of fabric (main and lining) with interfacing to give desired body. You may use a single main fabric or combined.

Pardon the delayed response. I have not signed in for a while. Although I am not good in describing the HOW, I will try to do so for you. Main fabric (): 10ins x 11ins (cut from my old jeans skirt) Lining/flap (): 21ins x 11inx (cut from a kente fabric as lining for the main fabric as well as main fabric and lining for the flap. I joined both fabrics, wrong side together widthwise, (i.e. I sewed the 11ins ends together). That gave me a double length of jeans/kente. I arranged it to allow me use the kente for the flap (main fabric and lining). I shaped the flap. You may shape yours to your own 'taste' You may also interface the fabric to get the thickness you desire. Sew up right round leaving just enough space to turn the clutch to the right side. Mark out your flap and fold the rest into two. Fold inside-out to sew both ends of the clutch. Turn rightside out. Fix a poppa snap or two on the flap to hold it. That is what I used. You may embellish the flap to your 'taste'.
