Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Jean-ius: Reverse Engineer Your Favorite Fit »

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Classic

Materials

Stretch denim, pink top stitching thread

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make a pair of jeans that were high waisted and fit me rather than having to despair at finding jeans in a shop that would have to be drastically altered!!

What are you most proud of?

I did not have a favourite pair of jeans so I made these with a pattern. First I made a toile then altered that, then made the jeans with a lot of trying on and basting and adjusting. I am so pleased that they look like jeans with flat fell seams, rivets and a coin pocket and that they fit!!!!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Measure everything very carefully as it helps so much further down the path of construction

Wow! Nice job on the stitching- I have a ton of trouble sewing straight lines, so I know how much time and effort you must have put into these! Great Jeans!
