This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Jean-ius: Reverse Engineer Your Favorite Fit »

Instructions

See my previous project on the same garment. I did make these smaller as I have lost weight, but apart from this, all the other details on the Sportscaft Eva capri trousers were the same.

Difficulty:

Category: Sewing

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Traditional

Materials

For these trousers, I used a cotton/lycra mix with just a tad of stretch. It proved to be much better than the previous cotton sateen trousers I made as these did not 'bag out' (due to having less lycra in the mix).

What was your inspiration?

Not having to spend $150 a pop for the best fitting trousers I have ever owned - Sportscraft Eva capri pants....

What are you most proud of?

Love the colour and the fabric - much more forgiving than the cotton sateen I used in the previous pair. And I forgot to mention too, I drafted a 4 piece waistband unlike Kenneth's 1 piece-I like to have a centre back seam in my waistband so there is no possibility of 'gaposis'!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

View the entire video and read all the class comments from participants and responses from Kenneth prior to commencing. He really is a genius ! I have written to Crafty asking when his next course will be - maybe if we all did that, they will enlist him to do another one......we need more garment sewing courses!
