InstructionsI enlarged a paper pieced Mariner's star for the center of the quilt. along all the edges were a kimono block, then a Kanji , then another kimono block followed by another Kanji etc all the way around except I made Japanese fans for the corners. This was a gift for my granddaughter who loves all things Japanese.

Aside from my granddaughter.... the Mariner's star
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
use oriental inspired fabrics for the kimonos. I love paper piecing because it is so precise. I often enlarge patterns from my extensive quilting library. They are striking in the center of a quilt.
