Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Retro / Vintage

Materials

100% cotton Kona Black and 100% cotton red on white print fabric

What was your inspiration?

I decided to do 4 blocks this month instead of 2 for the Free January BOM. I chose black and red on white background. It is my thought that these blocks will be better displayed with sashing. I believe that I will do a strip piece sashing of two outer black and one inner red print.

What are you most proud of?

I must admit that this is the first time that I have really finished a block for a BOM project in the month it was given. Really sad to say, but true.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It looks like great fun. Enjoy!

This is really cool to see how reversing the colors change the appearance of the block ..

I really like the reversed colors. The pieced sashing idea is really interesting. I might try something like that.
