January Block #2

My

My

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2012 »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Classic, Traditional

Materials

Leftover cotton fabric (I always seem to buy too much!)

What was your inspiration?

Amy's BOM course.

What are you most proud of?

The fact that the lines look more or less continuous. I got a bit carried away and put an extra line in and then added a Suffolk Puff (YoYo) to give it a bit more interest. Incidentally, the fabric looks quite blue in the picture, but it's much more lilac and purple in real life. (Camera's fault, not mine, for once!)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

It's easy - enjoy yourself!

Thank you. It's much nicer now it's been quilted, I think. It was really easy and fun to do (and turned out to be the right size, which is more than some of the other did!)

Thank you! I'm glad I stopped when I did - it was tempting to slash it all over the place!

Thank you - I thought it needed a "little something" more, so went for it!

As I said to Ginny - it's only too late if you've sashed, backed and quilted already!! Go on - give it a try!

Why didn't I think of an extra slash line? Too scared I guess, lol. Love your sample TFS!

It's not too late to go back and have another slash at the block! (That is, unless you've already put your quilt together and finished it!)

The extra line in this one turns this block from just nice to gorgeous... love the yoyo touch too. Yummy background fabric... I could find a home for it too ;-)
