This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Craftsy Block of the Month 2013 with Laura Nownes »
Instructions
If you're using Fat Quarters - you only need to cut two pieces for the 2 1/2" strips. I ended up with two extra strips. You will need four pieces for the 1 1/2" strips.Difficulty:
Category: Quilting
Type of item: Home Decor
For: Charity
Style: Casual, Traditional, Romantic, Classic
Materials
Cotton fabric and thread. Magic Sizing.
What was your inspiration?
The newest Craftsy BOM course.
What are you most proud of?
I had very little wasted fabric for these blocks and trimmings were slivers! All 4 blocks squared up to 6 1/2" with no problems.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be careful - I sliced into my 1st center square when trimming the 2nd piece. I also ended up with a stray selvage during piecing - not sure how. Next time I'll trim selvages like I normally do. Pay attention to the teacher. She gives a LOT of valuable tips! I used Magic Sizing before the last square up - just to make sure things were flat.
