What was your inspiration?

I'm using a range of beautiful DS Quilts Fabrics by Denyse Schmidt. I adore her fabrics and was itching to find the perfect project to use these whimsical fabrics - this is definitely the best block for it!

Love the use of the gray/taupe fabric, gives the quilt a modern twist and highlights the scrappy squares. Like it a lot!

What a great idea using the prints in the patches and solids in the HSTs! It really gives your Jacob's Ladder a unique look. Looking forward to seeing the whole quilt. I love the colors - green is my favorite and blue is my hubby's.

So beautiful -- I love that you are working with a "controlled" palette by keeping the HSTs the same..... Great job!
