Absolutely love your quilt! It reminds me of Autumn, wrapping up in a cozy quilt with a good book and simply being comfy.

I love the variety of overall designs from such a simple block. The sharp color contrast on this one create something very striking. Nicely done.

Thanks, I'll bring my quilt top to fabric store and "audition" my boarders. It's going to be fun! You are always very helpful. Thanks again.

Hi Kimberly, thanks for your kind comment. I do need some help from you about the boarders and backing fabric of this project so I can complete it. So far, I have some coffee and beige color fabric, they are all plain colors; my idea was having a narrow coffee color boarder first, and then adds a wider beige boarder to it and using the same beige color fabric as my backing fabric. But now I have 2nd thoughts about it. I would be very appreciated if you can give me some help and suggestions. Thanks again, you are always very helpful. Have a great day

Whoops -- didn't mean to hit the "send" after I said hello. You need to audition those borders. The "idea" of the coffee color and beige is good, but until you lay those color out next to the quilt top, you can't really get a feel for how they will look. And after you have laid those fabrics next to the top, try taking a digital photo and then viewing it through the screen on the camera. That will give you a "feel" for how they will work. Many, many times the fabrics I "think" will work as borders end up not looking great as borders when the blocks are done. So auditioning is key! If you find they look balanced and compliment the colors in the blocks well, then by all means, use them. But if you find that it "dulls" the blocks -- then go with something different. I think you might need a little "zing" with a pop of a bright color in the inner border -- like using some red or burnt orange, Try some different colors with the beige, or skip the beige altogether. Just because it is on the back doesn't mean it has to be on the front as a border. But again, the very best thing to do is audition. Have fun!
