Make It
This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Jack with pail crochet bookmark pattern »
Instructions
The pattern worked up very quickly and the instructions were very easy to understand. They use U.S. crochet abbreviations.Difficulty:
Category: Crocheting
Type of item: Functional
For: Unisex
Style: Classic, Eco-Friendly, Cute, Traditional, Mod, Whimsical, Funky
Materials
I used a Boye size 10 steel hook. I used a cream, dark blue and brown size 10 crochet thread. I used a small amount of polyester fiber fill, a tapestry needle for the face features, brown embroidery floss for the hair and a washable fabric glue.
What was your inspiration?
I was looking for something different to give to a child who is learning to read. He were so pleased.
What are you most proud of?
I love how the head hangs outside the book to make it easy to find the reader's place. His pail can go outside or inside the book.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't be intimated by thread. I find it easier to work with then yarn as I don't end up splitting the thread as I grab it.
