J Stern 0041 Tee pattern used. This pattern also comes in a plus size, and I kinda wish I had purchased that one. I'm a plus size 14/16 for the most part and I had to use the XXXL on this pattern and still make it bigger. So it fits quite small. I would recommend you consider getting the bigger version if you're interested in this design and are my size or bigger.
I made several changes. The front "top bodice" is in 3 pieces, I saw no reason to make them that way as there doesn't seem to be any kind of dart/benefit from doing so on that section. So I made them into 1 piece.
Ms Stern has lots of info on her website about adjusting this pattern.... a FBA, making it bigger overall etc etc. At first I tried her instructions for a FBA and also for making it bigger, then made a muslin. It had WAY too much room above the bust and it was still too small across the hips. Then I removed the FBA and made the new top bodice and back bodice longer by 1 1/2". I lengthened the lower bodices by 1" as well as making them even wider. I made the sleeves a bit bigger for my ham arms.
Then on to a 2nd muslin....well good thing I had lots of this fabric... I ended up with a rose bloom right on my one nipple. LOL Ok, so a recut of that section... carefully, so as to try not to get anything on the bust point :)
So, now I have a nice new, fitted tee, that is the length I like :)J Stern 0041 Tee pattern used. This pattern also comes in a plus size, and I kinda wish I had purchased that one.
