What materials did you use? Denim brocade.

What are you most proud of? There are so many good tips in this class, making it hard to choose. I'd have to say that the welt pocket instructions are great -- and I love the fact that there is no handsewing involved at all, even though I enjoy sewing by hand. But on this fabric, it would have been torture. I think all of the tips make it really professional looking! Sewing without pins -- okay, I used a cheat pin or two, but I could really tell a difference when I did it exactly as she demonstrates.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Take it easy and have fun! Janet is an excellent teacher -- extremely organized and calm! My denim was very heavy and Janet Pray recommends (strongly) that you NOT use something this heavy. So if you are relatively new to sewing, do as the teacher says -- and not as I did. My machines chugged along and sputter a time or two but I've very happy with the results!

Marianne, I got the fabric from Mood. It is probably still available!

Love your jacket! Too bad the fabric is in heavy denim. Something I'll have to work up to.

Beautiful garment! You did an amazing job! I L-O-V-E the fabric! Where did you get it and how much was it?

Thanks so much. The fabric is a denim brocade from Mood. I can't remember the price as I bought it a year ago or so but I want to say that it was $14 a yard.

Love the fabric print.
