What was your inspiration?
my heritage and my cousin's child. My cousin's friends & family hold an annual fundraiser to help him with the enormous costs (not covered by insurance) of raising his son. David and his wife are selfless individuals. So I made this wall quilt to be auctioned off and my dear husband kept bidding on it (David's brother got hip to my husband wanting it and they kept jacking the price higher and higher). It was fun & funny! And for a great cause.
What are you most proud of?
my ancestors' courage. my cousin's courage.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
use the Elenor Burns method of strip piecing to avoid dealing with tiny squares individually.
