What advice would you give someone starting this project? I used 3-1/2" whole squares, and 1-1/2" strips sewn together to make up the strips needed for the 9-patch blocks. The Simplicity tutorial shows how they go together. Mine is a miniature quilt for a table topper or wall hanging, so I had to downsize the block size accordingly. It is a cute little miniature quilt.

love the miniture quilt...as a relative beginner it would be good for quilting practise.

If you plan on hand quilting it, this is a good one to start on. All that is required is quilt an "X" over each square, i.e. one large on over the large square, and then smaller 'X's' over each smaller square. It is also a very simple quilt to piece together. Good luck on your venture, whatever quilt you choose.

I agree about the crisp, clean look. Sometimes less is more - that's why I love the Irish Chain pattern. Simply elegant. Very nice:)
