This is a gourd with the top cut off. I painted it with acrylic paint, and topped it with polyurethane.
What was your inspiration?
I love anything Indian. A family gave me a lot of gourds so I went to work painting. I saw a picture of a gourd painted similar to this and fell in love with it.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the fact that it is hand sanded and hand painted painted.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Just have fun with it. Gourds come in so many shapes and sizes. There are so many things you can make with them!
