Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Funky, Casual

Materials

Commercial quilting cotton and batiks

What was your inspiration?

The quilt is for one of my college friends, the first to become a grandmother. ( I made one of my first quilts for the birth of this baby's mother.)
The fabric inspiration was the repeated multi-color "striped" fabric. I had been wanting to make a quilt with that fabric and hadn't come up with an idea I liked until I saw someone's chevron quilt on-line.

What are you most proud of?

The back! It was improvisationally pieced of left-overs from the front, with a few additions. The African fabrics are pieces from another (failed) project. I like it as well as the front!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

To get the fabric placement right, you really NEED a design wall!

Love it; just ordered the pattern. Can it be made larger?

Sure! You could either make the half-square triangle squares a larger size (mine were 3 inches, finished) or add more of them.
