Cotton Gingham, large and small pattern. Numerous off cuts of solid colours for the "flags"

What was your inspiration?

I made a quilt for Imogens new little sister and promised I would make both herself and big brother one of their very own too, this is the result. The family has now moved to England so I am very glad I kept my promise true.

What are you most proud of?

This quilt is one of my first - Quilt no. 3 to be exact.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Great project for a beginner. If you don't feel you can handle making the "flags" just leave them off. I made the bows by simply cutting strips of material with "zigzag" scissors, sewed the strips in place then tied bows. I also cut a few extra strips and put them away for any repairs.
