I used a baking dome with a pint insert for the cake part. I made the cake as directed and poured into the dome form, also into the round base, and into 2 cupcake molds. (don't use the paper for this, you don't want the texture that the paper gives) Just spray the cupcake pan with pam and it works fine. Bake and cool as directed. Remove from pans and continue to cool. Pull out the ice cream from the freezer, and let it sit out for 5-10 minutes to soften. Take scoops and fill dome until it level with cake edge. Place back into freezer to harden 1 hour. remove again and see if there was any settleing. If so fill again and place back into the freezer. If not turn out onto round and set onto cake plate or cake form. Frost outside white. Take cupcake and cut into half (this will be your igloos enterance) connect to side (any side) and frost white too. Then take the Black frosting and place into a piping bag with a small round tip. Draw lines around the igloo, and enterance. then stagger lines downward between the layers for a block effect. I then sprinkled with crystalized white sugar and snowflake sprinkles. What was your inspiration?
The cake was made for my nieces and my daughter who all have birthdays within several days of one another in the month of December. Each wanted chocolate cake and chocolate ice cream...I just deceided to combind the two!!

How it turned out. Came out so nicely!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This is fairly easy. the hardest part might be jsut finding the cake form. (dome- check with Betty Crocker, thats where I got mine)
