Make It

This project was made from an independent Craftsy designer's pattern:
Ice hockey beanie »

Instructions

Carry unused yarn loosely with you otherwise the knitting will become too tight!
If not used yarn goes over more than 3 to 4 stitches cross it over the working yarn but do this at alternating positions in each round otherwise the strands will show through.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Children

Style: Outdoorsy, Casual

Materials

4-ply sock yarn of different manufacturers

What was your inspiration?

A pattern request for a kid's ice hockey beanie for boys and girls.

What are you most proud of?

Everything!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Due to the many color changes it is a bit more difficult to knit than a two - colored beanie. However, there are at most two colors in one round.
There are some good youtube videos for starting fair isle knitting that could help you to get started.
I recommend to weave in the ends during knitting by crossing new yarns over the last 10 stitches of the last round and weaving in the tails over the first 10 stitches of the next round via crossing the yarn tail over the working yarn. Then you just have to weave in the starting yarn and ending yarn.
