Detail

Instructions

I simply cut hexagons, with the largest size template I have, of all the NZ fabrics. Triangles of pale green were added to the top right edge and bottom left edge of each hexagon. These units were sewn together to make rows. The rest is pretty straight forward.
Hexagon cut size 3" per side.

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Infant/Baby

Style: Traditional, Casual

Materials

Cotton fabrics printed with New Zealand designs

What was your inspiration?

This pattern is such an easy way to use hexagons and it showcases a variety of pictorial fabrics in an attractive way.

What are you most proud of?

The colours all worked out well together. The recipient was thrilled.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Cut carefully and take your time.

Very nice job on your quilt! Thanks for the idea of using hexies for an I Spy quilt. I have been collecting novelty fabrics and was thinking of a Snowball block, but your layout is much more interesting!
