What materials did you use? Cotton

What are you most proud of? That I used fabrics from my stash to use some of it up.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? I just found items that were similar in size, cut them out and sewed black pieces around them until they were all the same size before I pieced them together. I stitched the black and white striped long strips on as the 'quilting'. I cut the binding on the bias. I didn't buy any new fabrics for this....I had all of it in my stash.

This is great. My grandchildren love I Spy too. Now I will have to go through my fabric to see what I can spy!

I use it to teach colors too. They have to find the 'red' chair, etc.

I have made ONE and have blocks cut for two more ----- I like your idea of setting the object in black. I machine embroidered the words on the borders of the items to 'spy'.

That's a clever idea to quilt the words on the borders....I like that!

What a neat idea! My kids all love the I Spy books and games, this could be a great project for me and the older children for the younger ones. :-)

My older granddaughter, who is 10, enjoyed helping choose the fabrics for the little ones.

I had my first child to get married this year, so that means grandkids could be coming in the not-too-distant future. I can see where this would be a fun quilt to have around, and could even plant a seed to instill a love of quilts/quilting!!! Great idea!!

It's a great quilt to have here at my house. My 2 yr. old grandson won't nap without it covering him. We usually play I Spy a little before he takes his nap.
