What was your inspiration?
My 3 year old boy was moving from a toddler to a "big boy's" bed. He loves swimming and in happiest when he's in the pool. When I saw Kaffe Fasset's Byzantine Bubble pattern, I knew it would be the perfect inspiration for an I spy quilt.
What are you most proud of?
Learning to sew from books and the internet 5 years ago. If there's a will, there's a way!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I collected heaps of scraps and cast offs of feature fabrics, often from complete strangers, through the Freecycle network. I just let it be known that I was looking for feature scraps and it worked out to be a budget quilt.
