What was your inspiration?

This quilt is for my daughter. My niece died in her sleep on December 28, 2011 at 32 years old leaving three beautiful babies. The family is devastated. This is the first of five quilts I am making for the family. The quilt has silver ribbon for my daughters tears and the moon in different phases meaning we will remember but tme will pass and she will not be back with us. Black with purple ribbon for the funeral. The piano keys for her love of music. I feel so badly for my daughter (her cousin) and best friend and those beauitiful children that she left. 5, 3, and 3 months. Now a Daddy has to do it all alone. With God's help.

What are you most proud of?

I started these on December 29th and this is the first of five that are finished. 3/15/2012. My daughter receivd that quilt.

The three childrens quilts were send together on May 3 and never got to their destination. I did take a picture before sent them and posted those pictures here.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Quiltng really helps to work through the pain of loss. It helps you to focus and find peace.

All three children's quilts were lost by USPS. Please send up your prayers that they are found. I thank you so much!

Quilting is great therapy for you. Getting your Daughter involved might help her too. Love the thought behind the design of this one and will be waiting for the next one. Good luck!

The symbolism is also incredible. Your project is what quilting is all about.

Even though it came about from an unfortunate event, it's a very beautiful quilt and even more so because of the meaning of the colors and the design. My condolences on your loss, but it's a very striking quilt.

I added the piano key border because my neice loved modern music and was very up on the latest recordings.
