Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Advanced Fondant Techniques »

Instructions

I have learned a lot from advanced fondant techniques with Marina Sousa.
I use her hand painted technique for the leopard print and her inlaid design for the make up bag. I used her candles technique for nail polishes and eye pencils. I learned how to use pearl dust for the shinny look on the nail polishes and I learned to make her flowers too.

Difficulty:

Category: Cake Decorating

Type of item: Food

For: Women

Style: Classic, Cute, Funky

Materials

Top tier cake: Zebra print cake with zebra effect marble cake. Bottom tier cake: Leopard print cake with leopard pattern on the inside of cake. This cake is covered with fondant and with fondant accents. The make up bag on top of cake made out of rice crispy for filling. Everything on the cake is edible.

What was your inspiration?

This cake is for my friend's graduation from beauty school.
She is very talented and she loves all my cakes, this cake is a gift from me for her special day.

What are you most proud of?

The make-up bag, It's beautiful and I can able to put a Michael Kors logo on it. Michael Kors is her favorite brand and pink is her favorite color, I want to make a cake that is personally made for her.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Prepare early, making those fondant accents does take time but it was very fun to made!!!
