Various t-shirts backed with Pellon SF101 fusible interfacing, pieced with Superior thread Masterpiece, quilted with Superior Bottom Line and So Fine, Fairfield 80/20 Quilters batting, Tailor Quilt basting spray,backed with 100% cotton fabric.
What was your inspiration?
My husband's 50th birthday and not knowing what to give him, also the fact that I have not specifically made a quilt for him. He had a bag of t-shirts in the garage to take to the thrift store but I never got around to it.
What are you most proud of?
That I got it done in 4 days. And he loved it. Found a really cute Air Force fabric for the binding, but wanted to do it a little bigger so I had to figure out how to do the corners. (I'll put that in another project)
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Always make a spare block and use it to test quilting pattern and thread tension as you go. You can also test the binding on this test piece.
