For: Men

Style: Traditional

acyrlic/nylon blend yarn

What was your inspiration?

my husband has EEE feet and prefers Acrylic socks which can be hard to find.

What are you most proud of?

i adapted the pattern to custom fit him .I used a swirl toe ,afterthought heel,k1p1cuff.

I put a line at the toe so I can replace it easily in the future.

as a result of this I made my own point keepers

My hubby said 'These are the most sock looking socks I have ever seen"

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

don't let it overwhelm you just do one sectionof the foot at a time.

I used a 50/50 acrylic nylon yarn which was heavier than sock yarn I made a swatch and then determined the amount of stitches required for the finished toe. in my case this was 52 stitches.after I had the increases made I knit 6 rows before putting in 1 row of contrasting yarn.then I used 46 rows stockinette stitch till i got to the heel I knit one row of contrasting yarn in the sole portion Next i knit 16 rows before beginning the cuff. I knit the cuff 44 rows high but do it to your taste. then return to the heel stitches and as you remove the contrasting/waste yarn place stitches on three needles. knit 2 rows plain then start your decreases. decrease by starting with SSK on the right corner and K2tog on the left side of the heel till you have only 12 stitches left. then graft with kirchners stitch
